The only surprising name in Finland’s squad is Njazi Kuqi, the younger brother of Finland veteran Shefki. Njazi, a striker with Greek club Panionios, last played for Finland under Stuart Baxter in 2008 in their 3-3 draw at home to Germany. Earlier in his international career, he had scored three times in two matches against Middle Eastern sides in friendly matches in 2005. Kuqi will be considered a direct replacement for Mikael Forssell, who has not been seeing much action at Leeds United. He has had less than 100 minutes of playing time at the club since mid-October and has been reported to be frustrated at his lack of opportunities.

The Austria national football team is the association football team that represents the country of Austria in international competition and is controlled by the Austrian Football Association (German: Österreichischer Fußballbund).Austria has qualified for seven World Cups, most recently in 1998. The Austrian Football Association was founded on 18 March 1904 in the Empire of Austria-Hungary. The team enjoyed success in the 1930s under coach Hugo Meisl becoming a dominant side in Europe and earning the nickname "Wunderteam". On 16 May 1931, they were the first European side to defeat Scotland. In the 1934 FIFA World Cup, they finished 4th after losing 1–0 to Italy in the semifinals, and 3–2 to Germany for Third place. They were runners-up in the Football at the Summer Olympics 1936, again losing to Italy, 2–1.


The Finland national football team represents Finland in international football competitions and is controlled by the Football Association of Finland.

Although The Finnish national team has never qualified for a finals tournament of the World Cup or the European Championships, the Nordic nation made remarkable progression in the 2000's reaching a peak of 30th on the Elo Rankings, under coach of Roy Hodgson they achieved notable results against much more established European teams. The team has also never dropped out of the top 100 of the FIFA World Rankings since they were established in 1993.
